Peet is from Cape Town, South Africa and developed his passion for sailing and the ocean from a very young age. He grew up sailing the waters of South Africa onboard a family owned boat.
He is a young, energetic and very outgoing person, that loves to meet new people and from all corners of the globe. His love for traveling and exploring new places shines through his personality and you can be sure that he has some very interesting stories about his travels. Not the mention the stunning secret spots that he has discovered all over the Caribbean.
Although he works alongside a very professional chef, he also has a great passion for cooking and be sure to know that he can whip up a few very pleasant surprises out the kitchen.
He is a pure waterman and has been surfing his entire life. And it does not stop there, he is an avid free-diver, scuba diver, kite surfer and very experienced fisherman.
Peet holds a RYA Yacht Master Ocean certificate that is Commercially endorsed and also holds a PADI open water diver certificate.
Peet has sailed all over the world, including almost the entire Mediterranean. He has successfully completed 2 Trans Atlantic Crossings as captain and has also sailed the Indian Ocean. When it comes to boats, this is where Peet shines as he has accumulated loads experience for someone of a relatively young age.
Besides being a waterman and professional sailor, he also has many hospitality skills and loves to host and entertain people as he was enrolled in a Hotel School after completing high school. This will ensure that every requirement and need will be fully catered and attended too.
Peet is a perfectionist and this you will realize the very second you step onboard EXODUS. He is professional and safety is very important to him, therefore whatever the weather, or adventurous exploration you are going on, you can be assured that you are in the best possible hands.
Kate started working on boats in 2014 as a way of incorporating her lifelong passions of food and travel and has worked on both motor and sail yachts. In 2015 she did her first trans-Atlantic crossing as part of a team of four, her favourite memories of which are seeing dolphins up-close for the first time, and swimming in the middle of the Atlantic.
She has previously worked for an advertising agency in Central London and as an English teacher in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, before studying a Professional Cookery Certificate at Ashburton Chefs Academy. Kate also has experience working in a prestigious five-star hotel in Manchester, UK and its her experience in luxury hospitality, and attention to the little touches that make her perfectly equipped to look after your every need.
Kate fell in love with the Caribbean on a trip to Trinidad and Tobago; since then she has visited nearly every island in the Lesser Antilles and is delighted to ensure her guests enjoy a fantastic experience in the Caribbean sun. Coming from a large, sociable family Kate has spent her life hosting and entertaining and loves to meet new people. Her friendly caring personality mean she is able to put all guests at ease, from children to more mature holidaymakers.
As someone who relishes experiencing different cultures she likes to incorporate different influences in her cooking such as Mediterranean, Thai, Caribbean and Indian; and is enthusiastic about delicious, healthy cooking using a variety of fresh local ingredients, whilst catering to a variety of tastes and requirements.
